Bio

Arialle Crabtree is an Assistant Professor of Sociology and Gender Studies at Mississippi State University. She received a Graduate Certificate in Gender Studies and Ph.D. from the Department of Sociology at the University of Georgia in 2021. Her research interests center on sexuality, gender, social movements, feminist theory, and feminist methods. 

 

Her recent work explores student activism against gender-based violence, heteronormative culture, and state and federal policies that harm student survivors in the U.S. Dr. Crabtree has also published on representations of gender and sexuality in romance films, activists' emotion management in the U.S. marriage equality movement, and LGBTQ+ individuals experiences of sexual violence.
