LGBTQIA+

The Gender Studies Program at Mississippi State University is proud to support lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning (LGBTQ+) faculty, staff and students.

In addition to the campus resources listed below, the program often offers frequent lectures, film screenings, and other events on campus to highlight the unique experiences of LGBTQ+ individuals and provide attendees with information on resources available to them.

Safe Zone

A program designed to create an environment at Mississippi State University that is welcoming, supportive, and safe for LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning and other members of this community) students, faculty, and staff as well as campus and community allies.

LGBTQ+ Union

This organization holds social gatherings where people of all walks of life can communicate and form bonds for future projects. They put together public awareness and education events to create a better understanding of LGBTQ related issues on campus and within the community.

Delta Omega Lambda

This service organization is the gender-inclusive sorority at Mississippi State University that works to develop a better understanding of sexuality and gender identity. They work to provide a safe space and resources to individuals at Mississippi State University and the larger community.
